CREATION OF TIFT
COUNTY |

| Tift County was created by an act of the General Assembly
on Aug. 17, 1905. Tift county was formed from parts of Berrien, Irwin,
and Worth Counties. It was named Tift county after Nelson Tift who
also helped found Albany, Georgia. Visit the Tift
